A sign-on bonus of $25,000 is offered with this full-time Graduate Registered Nurse Anesthetist opening in Los Angeles. The role involves giving general and regional anesthesia for surgical, obstetrical and other procedures, working under the medical supervision of an anesthesiologist. Patients range from neonates and children to adolescents, adults and older adults, and care follows hospital and departmental standards.

Responsibilities include airway management, fluid and homeostasis maintenance, patient monitoring, and responding to airway emergencies and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as well as managing ventilated patients. The anesthetist evaluates patients before surgery by interviewing them, examining them and reviewing their charts, then selects an anesthetic together with the physician.

Other duties include checking and maintaining anesthesia equipment, preparing medications, keeping an accurate count of controlled substances, and communicating with surgeons and anesthesiologists about patient concerns. The position requires following organizational policies, accreditation standards and state and federal laws, and working as part of an anesthesia team alongside anesthesiologists, CRNAs and anesthesia technicians. Courteous working relationships with patients, staff and the public are expected.
