Full details

Cincinnati Children's is seeking Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists for its pediatric hospital, which is nationally ranked. The role centers on delivering anesthesia to children and families across several care areas, including the main hospital, surgery centers, the cardiac catheterization lab, and radiology. The anesthesia department handles more than 39,000 cases a year across many pediatric specialties and levels of complexity.

Core duties include evaluating patients before procedures, preparing equipment such as anesthesia machines, airway tubes, and monitoring devices, and reporting any equipment that malfunctions. Anesthetics are given only under the direct supervision of a faculty or staff anesthesiologist, with vital signs and anesthetic effects tracked and recorded closely. After surgery, the CRNA follows up with patients in consultation with the attending anesthesiologist, escorts them to the recovery unit, and sees them in person within one to two days after anesthesia. The position also supports department research projects, under the approval of the research committee and within the scope of the supervising physician.

Candidates should hold a graduate degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, hold current CRNA certification, and have or be eligible for Ohio APRN licensure. Pediatric experience is preferred but not required, and orientation and support are provided. Depending on subspecialty, additional state licenses may be needed beyond Ohio.

Staff are offered competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and room to grow professionally. The hospital touts recognitions including a top-ten national ranking from U.S. News & World Report, Magnet designation, and a place among America's best large employers.
