The CRNA role covers the full anesthesia cycle: pre-anesthetic evaluation and preparation, induction, maintenance and emergence, post-anesthetic care, and pain management. The nurse anesthetist also responds to emergencies involving airway management and cardiac life support. Patients across all acuity levels and age groups are served in a range of settings, including surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, therapeutic and pain procedures.

Marshall Medical Centers is an affiliate of the Huntsville Hospital Health System and serves Marshall County and nearby communities. The position is based at Marshall Medical Center South, a 150-bed hospital in Boaz, Alabama, which opened in 1956. The wider system includes a second hospital in Guntersville, eight outpatient locations, and a cancer care center, and the Joint Commission has named it a Top Quality Performer.
