Full details

This part-time onsite role centers on working alongside pediatric surgeons, anesthesiologists and other clinicians to assess, plan and deliver anesthesia suited to the particular physiology of children. The work starts with thorough pre-anesthetic evaluations that review medical history, lab findings and current medications, followed by identifying possible anesthetic risks, reviewing options with patients, building individualized care plans and securing informed consent. The family conversation is a central part of the job, with age-appropriate explanations and reassurance offered to both young patients and their caregivers.

The clinician provides a range of techniques, including general anesthesia, regional and local blocks, and sedation, and performs spinal, epidural and peripheral nerve blocks. Anesthesia is induced and maintained for surgical, therapeutic, diagnostic and obstetric cases, with physiologic responses watched closely and dosing adjusted to keep the patient safe and comfortable. Rapid sequence intubation and difficult airway management are part of the scope, as is participation on the code team, where airway control, vascular access and resuscitation are provided.

After procedures, the CRNA oversees emergence and manages postoperative conditions, then teaches patients and families about the process, risks, pain control, recovery expectations and warning signs of complications. Coordination with anesthesiologists, surgeons and other professionals supports seamless perioperative care, and the role includes teaching and mentoring nurse anesthesia students, residents or newly hired CRNAs.

The posting asks for a master's degree in a related field, with a doctorate preferred, plus an active RN license, CRNA certification from the Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists, and current BLS, PALS and ACLS credentials. Zero to two years of relevant experience is preferred. The position is listed at 0.6 full-time equivalent.
