Full details

Rochester Regional Health is recruiting a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for its St. Lawrence Region in Northern New York, where providers work within a collaborative health system while keeping the feel of a close-knit community. Candidates may be experienced CRNAs or new graduates, and the posting asks for NBCRNA certification and a demonstrated commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.

The region's communities sit along the St. Lawrence River and offer access to the Adirondack Mountains, short trips to Ottawa and Montreal, year-round outdoor recreation, affordable housing, short commutes, and family-friendly neighborhoods. The health system describes the area as having a slower pace of life while still providing modern amenities.

The CRNA will provide anesthesia for patients of all ages across a mix of cases, including obstetrics, general surgery, orthopedics, urology, healthy pediatric patients, outpatient surgery, occasional thoracic and trauma cases, and regional anesthesia. Required skills include labor epidurals, and experience with central line placement is preferred but not required. Duties include placing lumbar epidural catheters, giving spinal anesthesia, and at times performing axillary brachial plexus blocks, with other procedures and support possible as needed.

The practice blends care-team work with independent practice, with cases ranging from supervised to independent and a considerable degree of autonomy. The primary base is Canton-Potsdam Hospital, with possible outreach to Gouverneur Hospital and Massena Hospital. Regular OR hours run from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, and the schedule combines 24-hour shifts with 8-hour days for 40 hours per week. The call rotation is 1:9 and includes first call Sunday through Friday and second call on Saturday, and the CRNA is off the day after a first-call shift. The team uses Epic as its electronic medical record.

Compensation listed includes a base salary of $350,000, subject to the posting's pay-summary terms, a $25,000 sign-on bonus, and a $25,000 retention bonus after the first year. The posting also mentions student loan repayment through CLASP of up to $180,000, relocation assistance, and possible variable pay based on productivity or value-based incentives. Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement plan with employer contribution, malpractice coverage with tail, and possible visa sponsorship.
