Full details

Multiple providers are sought to work Monday through Friday, with an occasional weekend shift. The practice is medically directed and works alongside collegial anesthesiologists. On average a provider handles one to two longer cases or three to four shorter cases in an 8-hour day. The surgical schedule is busy and covers nearly all case types, excluding transplants and pediatric hearts.

The role involves one-to-one patient care under anesthesia in operating rooms, the cath lab, GI, EP, MRI and CT as needed, and patients of every age are served at a Level 1 trauma center. Shifts run 8, 10 or 12 hours on weekdays and 12 or 16 hours on weekends, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. Most shifts fall Monday through Friday.

The provider may be placed at several sites: a 344-bed tertiary Level I trauma hospital in Minnesota that opened in July 2023, a surgery center with four ORs, a Superior, Wisconsin hospital with two ORs and two endoscopy suites (about 90% outpatient surgery), a 165-bed Duluth hospital with 11 ORs (about 80% outpatient), and an outpatient endoscopy center.

Candidates must hold a master's or doctorate from an accredited nurse anesthesia program and be licensed, or able to obtain licensure, as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist in Minnesota. Current CPR and BCLS/ACLS certification is required. Certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification of Nurse Anesthetists is required, or graduates awaiting their initial certification may apply.

The engagement starts in October 2026 and is ongoing, with scheduled clinical hours only. Orientation pay is capped at 60% of the hourly rate. The listed acceptable rate range is $245 to $310, and the pay is negotiable. Travel and lodging are provided, as is malpractice insurance.
