The assignment is a 120-day contract based in West Virginia, calling for an anesthetist who can deliver a broad range of anesthesia care across the surgical service lines. The work covers general and advanced airway management and spans general surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, thoracic, vascular, ENT, GI and endoscopy, urology, trauma, plastics, dental and oral surgery, podiatry, outpatient procedures, and emergency airway, ICU and critical care cases. Duties include administering general anesthesia, placing peripheral IVs and arterial lines, and carrying out advanced airway techniques.

Shifts run Monday through Friday and may be scheduled as 8, 10, or 12 hours, with typical start and end times of 7a to 3p, 7a to 5p, or 7a to 7a. The client would like providers available four weeks per month, though a minimum commitment of two weeks per month is accepted. Board certification in anesthesiology is required, and the facility works in the Epic electronic medical record system.

Compensation is described as strong, travel-related expenses are covered, and malpractice coverage through an A-rated carrier is provided. The opportunity also includes access to a dedicated recruiter for later travel assignments.
