Full details
The Henry Ford St. John Surgery Center, at the 12 Mile and 23 Mile locations, is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its anesthesia care team. The CRNA gives intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthesia to keep patients free of pain during surgery, obstetric deliveries, and other medical or dental procedures. Patients of all ages and A.S.A. classes may be served, including geriatric and pediatric patients, and airway management is provided as needed across the hospital.
The position is full-time, with a $40k sign-on bonus available to eligible candidates. Shifts run eight hours, and both full-time and part-time roles are open. The schedule has no call, no weekends, and no holidays, and shifts fall on Mondays and Fridays at the surgery center. Each four-week schedule includes five to six late shifts to cover cases running past 3:30 p.m., though the team works to get CRNAs out on time. Cases span orthopedics, ENT (healthy pediatric and adult patients), plastics, podiatry, ophthalmology, pain management, general surgery, robotic surgery, gynecology, and urology.
Responsibilities include completing pre-anesthesia assessments and building individualized anesthesia plans, administering anesthesia alongside surgeons and other providers, monitoring patients during procedures and handling any anesthesia-related complications, delivering post-anesthesia care and pain control, and keeping documentation accurate under hospital policy and regulatory standards.
Candidates need a current RN license and NBCRNA CRNA certification, a master's or doctoral degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills are expected, along with the ability to collaborate smoothly with anesthesiologists and other health care providers. Required credentials to hold and keep current include clinical privileges, the State of Michigan RN license, state specialty certification, CRNA certification, and ALS, BLS, and PALS certifications.
Benefits include a competitive salary, family-forming support such as paid parental leave, adoption assistance, donor assistance, and fertility healthcare coverage, a 403(b) retirement plan with a 3.5% salary match, and medical, dental, and vision coverage with tax-advantaged accounts (HSA, FSA, DCFSA).
