The position is a 40-day assignment in Massachusetts for an anesthetist. Weekday shifts in the Main OR vary in length and may be 8, 10, or 12 hours. Alongside these, the role includes 24-hour in-house obstetric coverage on both weekdays and weekends.

The anesthetist would provide anesthesia across a broad mix of surgical services, including bariatric, ENT, gynecologic, interventional radiology, total joint orthopedics, plastics, pain and related procedures, spine, thoracic, urologic, and vascular cases. Labor epidurals are also part of the work, with physician backup available when needed. Regional blocks are performed using ultrasound guidance.

All work is carried out under full physician supervision within an established team. The team is described as two physicians and six anesthetists, and the facility has eight anesthetizing sites. The setting is inpatient and the electronic record system is Meditech.
