A full-time CRNA position in Fontana includes a $25,000 sign-on bonus. Working under the medical supervision of an anesthesiologist, the CRNA gives general and regional anesthesia for surgical, obstetrical and other procedures requiring anesthesia care. Patients range from neonates and children to adolescents, adults and older adults, and care follows hospital and departmental standards.

Duties include airway management, fluid and homeostasis maintenance, monitoring, responding to airway emergencies and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and managing patients on ventilators. The CRNA evaluates patients before surgery through interview and examination, reviews the chart, and chooses an anesthetic with the anesthesiologist. Anesthesia is given within the CRNA's delineated privileges, and the patient is monitored throughout the procedure and reassessed within 24 hours afterward.

Other responsibilities include checking and preparing equipment and drugs, keeping an accurate record of controlled substances, maintaining equipment and supplies, communicating with surgeons and anesthesiologists about patient concerns, and precepting student nurse anesthetists. The CRNA works under the organization's policies, accreditation standards and applicable state, federal and local laws, and may take on other duties within their licensure and certification.
