Full details
The caseload spans endoscopy, general surgery, obstetric and gynecologic, orthopedic, pain management, urology, vascular, and pediatric procedures for healthy children. The anesthetist works within a team model alongside supervising MDAs, delivering care for outpatient cases (about 70%) and inpatient cases (about 30%).
Responsibilities include giving anesthesia across many surgical types, completing pre-anesthetic evaluations and building anesthesia plans, watching vital signs and adjusting care during operations, and coordinating with surgeons and other clinicians. The provider also follows safety rules and hospital policy, documents thoroughly in Epic and through Dragon dictation, oversees recovery after anesthesia, and takes part in quality improvement and continuing education. Nerve block skills are preferred though not mandatory.
Candidates must hold a Michigan license and ideally have broad surgical experience. The setting is fast-paced and team-based, so strong communication, interpersonal skills, and flexibility as schedules and patient needs shift are important. Compensation is described as strong, with travel expenses covered and A-rated malpractice coverage supplied. A dedicated recruiter is available for later assignments.
