Full details
Sanford Health is a large, not-for-profit health system in the United States, and this CRNA opening is a 40-hour-per-week, non-union position with a varied work shift. The role centers on administering anesthesia, and the posting highlights flexibility, a modern practice, autonomy, potential for additional income, and a large group that feels like a family.
The CRNA would provide anesthesia or sedation for patients across a range of surgical and non-surgical procedures. Responsibilities include developing and carrying out a pre-anesthetic plan, writing orders before, during, and after procedures, and working alongside the other providers caring for each patient. The role also involves talking with patients, their families, and other members of the care team, ordering diagnostic tests when needed, and monitoring patients, including hemodynamics, adjusting care to match the anesthesia plan. The posting also asks for the ability to meet the growth and development needs of all client populations.
Candidates need a Bachelor of Science degree from an approved, accredited program in an advanced practice specialty, and a Master's, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or PhD is preferred. An unrestricted license to practice as a CRNA from the state board of nursing in each state of practice is required, or multi-state licensure privileges where the position calls for them. CRNA certification through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists must be obtained and maintained, along with any department-specific competencies. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
