Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its Inpatient Anesthesia Team in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The position is a 40-hour-per-week, benefits-eligible role with flexible scheduling that can include 8-, 11-, 12-, and 13-hour shifts, plus hybrid and weekend options. The pay range listed is $99.75 to $159.60.

The CRNA would provide safe, quality anesthesia across a broad range of inpatient procedures at a level 1 trauma center within an academic health system. Case types include orthopedic, vascular, burn, cardiothoracic (on a specific team), neurology, ENT, general and abdominal, robotic, and gynecology cases, with occasional work in EP, IR, MRI, the burn tank, brachytherapy, and transesophageal echocardiography. The role also offers the chance to precept student nurse anesthetists. Other duties include building individualized anesthesia plans that account for comorbidities and age-related needs, coordinating with the medical team, supporting patient safety and quality improvement, keeping accurate confidential records, controlling costs, and completing other assigned duties.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, a master's degree or higher, North Carolina RN licensure, current national certification as a nurse anesthetist, and current BLS and ACLS credentials. The clinician must demonstrate competency within granted privileges and communicate clearly with varied care teams. Practice is governed by the North Carolina Medical Board or the North Carolina Board of Nursing, along with institutional credentialing.

Compensation and benefits include recruitment incentives of up to $140,000, subject to eligibility, and a transition payment of up to $7,500 paid within the first 30 days. Continuing education reimbursement of up to $2,500 is available along with five additional PTO days per year. PTO accrual begins at 30 days annually. Parental benefits include six weeks of paid birthing-mother maternity leave and four weeks of paid parental leave. Retirement includes a dollar-for-dollar match up to 3% each pay period plus a 3% automatic annual non-elective contribution, with eligibility requiring 12 consecutive months and employment on the last day of the year.

The Piedmont Triad region, where the role is located, was ranked by US News & World Report among its top places to live and retire in 2023. The area is described as affordable, with housing costs 31% below the national average, and offers strong schools, a regional population of 1.6 million, outdoor trails, golf, arts, Southern cuisine, and craft breweries and wineries.

The employer is part of Advocate Health, a nonprofit integrated system formed from Advocate Aurora Health and Atrium Health, headquartered in Charlotte. Its affiliates include Wake Forest University School of Medicine as the academic core, and it is noted for cardiology, neurosciences, oncology, pediatrics, rehabilitation, transplants, and burn care. Total rewards for the wider organization include health, dental, vision, life and disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, defined contribution retirement plans, and an educational assistance program, with some eligibility depending on FTE or status.
