Full details
Sanford Health, described as the largest rural health system in the United States, seeks a CRNA to administer anesthesia across a range of surgical and non-surgical procedures. The position is listed as a 40-hour weekly role with a varying work shift, and it is not a union position.
The anesthetist will build and carry out a pre-anesthetic plan for each patient, writing orders before, during, and after procedures. The role involves working alongside other providers who care for the patient, communicating with patients, families, and the wider care team, and ordering diagnostic tests when needed. Patient monitoring, including hemodynamic monitoring, is expected, with adjustments made to match the anesthesia plan. The position also calls for an ability to address the growth and development needs of all client populations.
Candidates need a Bachelor of Science degree from an approved, accredited advanced practice program. A master's degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or Ph.D. is preferred. An unencumbered license to practice as a CRNA from the state board of nursing is required, or multi-state licensure privileges where the position calls for them. CRNA certification must be obtained and kept current through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists, and department-specific competencies and certifications must be completed and maintained. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
