Full details

The role centers on administering anesthesia, with the position responsible for delivering anesthesia or sedation for a range of surgical and non-surgical procedures. The CRNA develops and carries out a pre-anesthetic plan for each patient and writes the appropriate orders before, during, and after procedures.

Daily work involves coordinating with the other providers caring for each patient and communicating with patients, their families, and other members of the health care team. The CRNA orders and interprets diagnostic tests as needed and monitors patients, including hemodynamic monitoring, adjusting care to match the anesthesia plan. The position also calls for an ability to meet the growth and development needs of all client populations.

Candidates need a Bachelor of Science degree from an approved, accredited program in an advanced practice specialty, and a master's degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or PhD is preferred. An unencumbered license to practice as a CRNA from the state board of nursing in each state of practice is required, or multi-state licensure privileges where the position calls for them. CRNA certification through the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists must be obtained and maintained, along with department-specific competencies. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.

The posting describes the employer as a not-for-profit health system in the United States, with the work scheduled for 40 hours per week, shift timing varying, and the position not represented by a union.
