Full details

A locum tenens CRNA opening covers several community hospitals and surgical centers across the Greater Tucson, Arizona region. The assignment is ongoing, begins as soon as the provider is credentialed, and is described as urgently needed. Work is inpatient only, and the provider rotates among the sites, with cross-credentialing at all of them. Credentialing can take up to 90 days.

The role is full-time and includes beeper call on a 1-in-5 coverage ratio, with a call-back rate of roughly 5%. Weekend and night availability is required. Procedures include general, MAC, OB, spinal, epidural, regional blocks (preferred), and ventilator management, and the provider must practice independently. Central or arterial line placement and peripheral nerve blocks are preferred, and peripheral block case logs must be supplied since no training is offered. The facility EMR is Cerner.

Candidates need ACLS and BLS certifications from AHA or Red Cross, at least one year of experience after certification, and an active Arizona license; applicants who would need a new license are not considered. The provider cannot live within 60 miles of the assigned facilities.

Pay is hourly, set by availability and length of commitment, with stipends available for weeknight and weekend call. Travel, lodging, and a rental car or mileage are covered, and malpractice insurance rated A+ is included. The staffing firm offers support and access to contractor benefits through an independent contractor association.
