A locum tenens opening for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is available in Springfield, Massachusetts, on a 13-week contract. Candidates should have at least one year of experience, and the schedule runs five 10-hour shifts from 07:00 to 17:30.

The role centers on preparing and giving anesthesia and caring for patients before, during and after surgery. The CRNA would also take part in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, stabilize trauma patients, deliver critical care, and manage acute and chronic pain. Ongoing study of new anesthesia techniques, equipment and drugs is expected, along with accurate and thorough charting.

Required credentials include a BSN, an MSN or DNP from an accredited CRNA program (the DNP becomes mandatory in 2025), and NBCRNA certification. Continuing medical education is needed to keep both the certification and medical licenses current. A valid, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment is required, and licenses that are flagged or under investigation are not acceptable. One to two years of proven CRNA or anesthesia experience is preferred.
