Full details

UPMC Lititz is seeking a casual CRNA to join its Anesthesia Department, a single-location practice that combines anesthesiology residents and CRNAs. Work is scheduled Monday through Friday, with no holiday, weekend, or on-call duty, and both 8-hour and 10-hour shifts are offered.

Cases span orthopedics, general surgery, obstetrics, vascular, cardiac, GI, podiatry, and pain procedures, with occasional pediatric patients. The CRNA gives anesthetic care to all patient types in partnership with the supervising or medically directing physician, following Department of Anesthesiology standards and hospital policy. Responsibilities include administering anesthesia across pre-anesthetic evaluation, induction, maintenance and emergence, post-anesthesia care, and peri-anesthesia support, while watching for adverse changes and alerting the anesthesiologist.

The role also involves being accountable for controlled substances under department, hospital, state, and federal rules, reviewing informed consent, confirming the surgical site with the surgical team, and taking part in quality improvement through case documentation, incident reporting, and education. The provider may help train newly hired CRNAs, GRNAs, and SRNAs in the clinical area.

Candidates should be graduates of an accredited CRNA program and be able to obtain a Pennsylvania license, along with valid federal and state narcotics certificates. Experienced CRNAs and new graduates are both welcome to apply, and the practice looks for a commitment to compassionate, high-quality care and comfort with a broad range of cases.

The position is in Lititz in South Central Pennsylvania, a region with a diversified economy spanning manufacturing, sciences, agriculture, and technology. The area mixes rural and suburban living, offers sports, arts, and entertainment, and is near Gettysburg, the Appalachian Trail, and Hersheypark.
