Full details
The schedule is 8-hour shifts. A community-focused rural hospital in Northern Vermont is recruiting a CRNA to work full time within its anesthesia department. The role suits an anesthetist who prizes independence, varied clinical work, and a collegial group of colleagues. The practice operates under an independent CRNA model and offers a wide range of procedures, pay that is described as competitive, solid benefits, and the opportunity to live in one of the most picturesque parts of New England.
Duties include delivering full-scope anesthesia in both inpatient and outpatient areas and working alongside surgeons, nurses, and physicians. The anesthetist will care for children, adults, and older patients and handle a varied caseload spanning general surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology, labor analgesia, urology, otolaryngology, podiatry, endoscopy and gastroenterology, dental work, and eye surgery. Regional blocks are part of the work, as is keeping clinical skills current for each procedure type. Record-keeping, participation in quality and safety efforts, and peer review are also expected.
Days run Monday through Friday on a day shift. The position also requires taking call, and the anesthetist must be able to respond within a reasonable distance of the hospital. Candidates should hold a diploma from a COA-accredited nurse anesthesia program, a current NBCRNA certification, ACLS and PALS credentials, and a DEA registration. A Vermont APRN license is required or the candidate must be eligible to obtain one. Applicants should show firm clinical judgment and an interest in rural, community-based care.
The package includes a competitive salary, generous paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, continuing education funding, student loan repayment and tuition help, eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, a 401(k) with employer matching, relocation help, and additional wellness perks. The surrounding region is known for hiking, biking, kayaking, skiing, snowshoeing, farms, arts, breweries, and farmers' markets.
