This opening is for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join an all-CRNA anesthesia group at a not-for-profit rural critical access hospital in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. The group practices under an independent care model and works closely with surgical, nursing, and medical colleagues. The position is full-time, day shift, Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts plus call.
The CRNA would provide anesthesia for patients from infancy at 12 months through geriatric age, covering general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN with labor analgesia, urology, ENT, podiatry, endoscopy and GI, dental, and ophthalmology. Regional anesthesia is part of the scope, along with maintaining clinical skills, accurate documentation, peer review, and quality improvement. The role also involves taking part in departmental operations such as committees, scheduling, equipment review, and technology integration.
Compensation is listed as a salary of $325K-$350K per year. The benefits package includes generous paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, continuing education support, student loan repayment and tuition help (PSLF eligible), a 401(k) with employer match, a free gym membership, and relocation assistance.
Candidates should hold a degree from a COA-accredited nurse anesthesia program, current NBCRNA certification, and a Vermont APRN license or eligibility for one. Current ACLS, PALS, and DEA registration are also required. The CRNA must be able to meet call duties and live within 30 minutes of the hospital. Call is listed as a 1-in-6 schedule.
The community is known for rural charm, strong schools, skiing, and an extensive mountain biking trail network. The area sits about 45 minutes from Vermont's state capital and under three hours from Boston, Portland, Burlington, and Montreal.
