Full details
This as-needed CRNA opening at Neshoba General Hospital in Philadelphia, MS is offered through LifeLinc Anesthesia at a rate of $165/hour. The position comes with flexible scheduling and pay the employer describes as highly competitive, within a collaborative clinical setting where CRNAs work with considerable independence to deliver safe and efficient anesthesia care.
LifeLinc Anesthesia presents itself as a national anesthesia management provider active since 2003, guided by a goal of changing the status quo in healthcare through new approaches and strong clinical quality. The company states that it encourages its providers to take leadership roles in the perioperative area and aims for lasting working relationships.
Day to day, the CRNA would deliver conscious sedation and monitored anesthesia care for both outpatient and inpatient procedures. Core tasks include conducting and recording a pre-anesthetic evaluation, arranging consultations and diagnostic testing, choosing and giving pre-operative medications and fluids, and securing informed consent. The role also covers airway management, guiding emergence and recovery, discharging patients from the post-anesthesia area, and following up on anesthesia-related side effects or complications.
When emergencies arise, the CRNA is expected to manage the airway, give emergency fluids or medications, and apply basic or advanced cardiac life support. Other nurse anesthesia duties that fall within an individual's expertise are also part of the role.
The posting notes that reasonable accommodations may be made for people with disabilities who need to perform the essential functions. The CRNA must also maintain strict patient confidentiality under HIPAA rules and hospital policy, follow information security practices, and complete an annual HIPAA exam.
Candidates need to have graduated from an approved nursing school and from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the AANA's accrediting council or its predecessor. They must also have passed the AANA certification examination, or its predecessor's. Required additional credentials are ACLS, BLS, and PALS, along with at least two years of independent practice experience.
