Full details
This full-time CRNA position is based at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, with the option to work across Rumford and Bridgton as well. Central Maine Healthcare is the employer, and a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 is offered to qualified candidates, with eligibility and payout terms set out during interviews.
Pay is described as market-competitive for CRNAs in Maine, and the posting gives a reasonable compensation estimate of $245,000 to $268,000 per hour, with the final starting figure depending on skillset, experience, education, credentials and licensure. Benefits include medical, dental and vision coverage, a 401(k) with employer matching, generous paid time off, a continuing-education allowance, and malpractice insurance that includes tail coverage. Possible loan repayment and relocation help may also be available.
Schedules are structured but flexible, using 8-, 10- or 12-hour shifts depending on operating room needs. The role involves administering anesthesia across a broad mix of procedures, including general, orthopedic, GI, obstetric and urologic cases, with a balanced caseload that has little high-acuity trauma.
Duties include pre-anesthesia assessment, individualized care planning, intraoperative management and post-anesthesia recovery, working alongside anesthesiologists, surgeons and perioperative staff. The CRNA must also meet hospital, state and federal safety and quality standards.
Candidates should be graduates of an accredited nurse anesthesia program and hold NBCRNA board certification. They need to be active or eligible for Maine RN or APRN licensure and maintain current BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications, along with strong clinical skills and the ability to work both independently and within a team.
The practice uses a team-based model supported by experienced anesthesia staff, and the hospital's operating suites and anesthesia equipment are described as state of the art. Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated system that includes a regional referral hospital, critical access hospitals in Bridgton and Rumford, and a nursing and health professions school, and it describes its focus on professional growth and leadership.
