Full details
This full-time day-shift role at Loma Linda University Medical Center and Loma Linda University Children's Hospital is designed for newly graduated nurse anesthetists transitioning into independent CRNA practice, and a sign-on bonus of $9,000 may be available. The position is limited to a maximum term of one year.
Working under a CRNA or anesthesiologist who remains immediately available throughout each anesthetic at all affiliated sites, the graduate provides full-scope anesthesia care, including general anesthesia, procedural sedation, and regional techniques. Responsibilities include selecting an age-appropriate anesthetic plan before induction for patients ranging from neonates to older adults, communicating clearly during each case, and applying classroom knowledge to bedside practice while steadily building clinical skill. The nurse anesthetist exercises independent judgment within CRNA scope, follows institutional policies and protocols along with state and federal rules, and helps foster a caring, cooperative team across a diverse workforce and patient population. Services may be delivered at either hospital, and other duties may be assigned.
Candidates need a degree from an accredited nursing school and graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program. Recent anesthesia experience as a CRNA or student nurse anesthetist is a plus, though not required. Strong English communication is essential, and Spanish is preferred. The role calls for critical thinking, attention to detail, calm performance under pressure, and the ability to lead, teach, and take direction. Physical abilities include distinguishing colors and smells, hearing conversation, reading screens and records, and sensing temperature by touch.
Required credentials include a valid California Registered Nurse license, current certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists, and active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association.
