Full details

This full-time, benefits-eligible role sits within the anesthesiology department of a university group practice in High Point and is scheduled for 40 hours per week, with day shifts running 7a-3p or 7a-5p. The posted pay range is $99.75 to $159.60.

The CRNA provides the full span of anesthesia services, from pre-anesthesia evaluation through post-anesthesia care, across general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care. Responsibilities include obtaining informed consent, ordering and giving premedications, selecting and administering anesthetics and adjuvant drugs, managing induction, maintenance and emergence, and handling emergencies with advanced airway management and cardiac life support. The nurse also gives postoperative epidural pain relief and other analgesia alongside the surgeon, remains with patients through handoff, and follows up on anesthesia-related complications.

Documentation in the electronic medical record must be accurate and timely, and professional services must be coded and billed in line with compliance rules. The role also involves taking part in quality, safety and peer review efforts, committee work, and onboarding or teaching new staff and students, while meeting productivity and quality benchmarks.

Candidates need an active RN license and an APRN credential in the state of practice, along with current NBCRNA certification as a CRNA and an active DEA registration before hire. A master's degree in nursing is required, and no prior experience is needed. ACLS, PALS and NRP are required as the site or role dictates, to be completed before hire or within six months of it. An Illinois practice would also require an Illinois controlled substance license.

The position calls for strong clinical judgment, independent decision-making, and the ability to work within a care team. Familiarity with evolving technology and the electronic record is expected, along with clear communication and organizational skills.

Physical demands include sitting, standing, walking, lifting, squatting, bending, reaching overhead and twisting often during a shift, plus lifting up to 50 pounds from floor to waist, pushing or pulling 30 pounds of force, and assisting with a sliding transfer of 150 pounds alongside a second person. The role requires functional vision and hearing and use of foot pedals on equipment, and involves regular exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, radiation, and blood or body-fluid hazards.
