This Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist role in Jennings, Louisiana administers anesthesia during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain-producing procedures, working under physician supervision within a collaborative team that includes residents, fellows, attendings, and staff.

Responsibilities include documenting procedures and incidents, assessing patients before, during, and after anesthesia, and applying accepted techniques to keep patients safe. The nurse anesthetist serves as a liaison to surgeons, anesthesiologists, colleagues, patients, and families, adjusting communication, introductions, and explanations to each patient population. The position also involves taking part in department quality assurance efforts and professional development, plus other duties as assigned.

Candidates need a master's degree from an AANA-accredited nurse anesthesia program, an APRN license in the state of practice, and AANA certification, along with Basic Cardiac Life Support certification from the American Heart Association. No prior work experience is required. Strong computer and keyboard skills, clear written and verbal communication, and willingness to work a flexible schedule that may include 24/7, weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts are expected.
