Full details

The role involves giving anesthesia to patients during surgical, obstetrical, and other procedures that cause pain, working under physician supervision. The CRNA works within a collaborative care team that includes residents, fellows, attending physicians, and other staff.

Core responsibilities include documenting procedures and any incidents, evaluating patients before, during, and after anesthesia, and keeping patient safety central while delivering anesthesia using accepted techniques. The position also serves as a point of contact between surgeons, anesthesiologists, colleagues, patients, and families, and it calls for taking part in departmental quality assurance work and professional development. The CRNA adjusts communication and care to each patient group, including privacy, introductions, explanations, and requests for consent.

Candidates need a master's degree from an AANA-accredited nurse anesthesia program, a state APRN license for the practice state, AANA certification, and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification from the American Heart Association. No prior work experience is required. Strong computer and keyboard skills, clear written and verbal communication, and flexibility for around-the-clock, weekend, holiday, and on-call shifts are expected.

The work is classified as medium physical demand, with standing for long stretches, and involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue as well as possible contact with hazardous medications and waste. The posting notes that remote eligibility depends on the position and that certain states are excluded from remote roles. A sign-on bonus is advertised in the title.
