Full details

The position is a full-time CRNA role with a sign-on bonus of 30K. The CRNA administers anesthesia during surgical, obstetrical, and other pain-producing clinical procedures under physician supervision, working within a collaborative team that includes residents, fellows, attendings, and other staff.

Core responsibilities include documenting procedures and incidents, assessing patients before, during, and after anesthesia, and keeping patient safety at the center of anesthesia delivery using accepted techniques. The CRNA serves as a liaison to surgeons, anesthesiologists, colleagues, patients, and families, takes part in department quality assurance efforts and professional development, and adjusts communication and approach to each patient population, including respect for privacy and requesting permission. Other related duties may be assigned.

Required education is a master's degree from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the NBCRNA. Candidates need a current APRN license in the state of practice, NBCRNA certification, and Basic Cardiac Life Support certification from the American Heart Association. No prior work experience is required. Strong computer and keyboard skills, with proficiency in Windows-style applications, are expected, along with clear verbal and written communication.

The work is classified as medium physical demand, requiring prolonged standing and exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissue in a patient care setting. The schedule is flexible and may include 24/7 coverage, weekends, holidays, and on-call availability. The posting also notes that the role must comply with federal, state, and local regulations and the organization's compliance and privacy program.

The employer is Ochsner Health, an equal opportunity employer that considers applicants without regard to protected characteristics. Interested candidates must formally apply through the careers website to be considered.
