Full details

The schedule is three 12-hour shifts a week. Stanford Health Care is growing its anesthesia department and expanding its CRNA team from 60 to 75 providers as new operating rooms open. The practice uses an Anesthesia Care Team model in which CRNAs and anesthesiologists collaborate, with a typical ratio of one anesthesiologist to three CRNAs. The department also hosts student nurse anesthetists from local CRNA programs, so providers can mentor or simply practice in a learning-focused setting.

The position is 0.9 FTE and is rotating. Stanford offers an established Advanced Practice Provider Career Ladder, and CRNAs may take part in research, quality improvement, leadership, education, and committee work.

Candidates should have more than three years of experience as a CRNA. Required credentials include a graduate degree in nursing, completion of a COA-accredited nurse anesthesia program, an RN license through state licensure or compact, BLS and ACLS certification, and CRNA certification. A doctoral nursing degree is preferred.

The CRNA selects and administers anesthesia for pediatric and adult surgical patients in the operating room and for diagnostic or therapeutic procedures elsewhere, under an anesthesiologist's supervision. Duties include pre-anesthetic assessment, airway management, invasive line placement, monitoring, emergence care, post-anesthesia follow-up, and documentation, all under standardized procedures.

Base pay is generally between $157.03 and $170.42 per hour. The final salary depends on factors such as internal equity, experience, education, specialty, and training, and the stated range is not a guaranteed wage. The posting advertises a sign-on and relocation bonus of up to $60k.

The role is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, which offers mild year-round weather, dining, outdoor recreation, and access to the Sierra Nevada.
