Full details
This Anesthesia Advanced Practice Provider role, open to either a CRNA or an Anesthesiologist Assistant, makes up part of the anesthesia care team and works under the medical direction of anesthesiologists. The provider gives safe, high-quality, patient-centered anesthesia care to patients of every acuity level across surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic and therapeutic settings. The posting highlights competitive pay, a sign-on bonus and comprehensive benefits, and notes a student stipend that applicants can ask about.
Day-to-day work includes performing anesthesia as part of a care team, running and reading data from a wide range of equipment, and providing the perioperative and operating room support needed to keep patients safe. The provider must communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with nurses and other disciplines, and must tailor care to each patient's population and age-specific needs, drawing on knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan. Other expectations include infection prevention and control, keeping records confidential, following facility policy, and helping the OR run efficiently. The listed duties are illustrative rather than exhaustive.
Minimum education for a CRNA is graduation from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. An Anesthesiologist Assistant needs a master's degree in anesthesia from an accredited AA program. Candidates at every experience level may apply, and new graduates committed to learning and growth are specifically welcome.
Licensure requires a current Georgia CRNA license, or eligibility and willingness to obtain one, plus NBCRNA certification for CRNAs. AAs need a current Georgia AA license, or the same willingness to obtain one, plus NCCAA certification. Basic Life Support certification is also required. The employer is Piedmont Medical Care Corporation.
