Full details
The University of Kansas Health System's St. Francis campus in Topeka, Kansas is looking for a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. Newly trained and experienced CRNAs are both encouraged to apply, and new graduates receive mentorship within a friendly, collaborative team.
The caseload is broad and spans OB, general, orthopedic and spine, urology, plastics, GI, the cardiac catheterization lab, neurological surgery, and cardiovascular surgery. The practice follows a medically supervised model that gives the anesthetist considerable autonomy, including regional blocks, epidurals, and central lines. Shadowing opportunities are available, and positions may be full-time or part-time.
Candidates must have completed a nurse anesthesia program, hold current certification, and be eligible for licensure in Kansas. The role involves home call, with a day off after post-call shifts. A signing bonus of up to $35,000 is offered for early commitment.
Benefits include an employer-sponsored retirement plan, paid vacation and continuing medical education time, comprehensive medical coverage with dental and vision, a $2,000 yearly CME allowance, and paid malpractice coverage. Providers also use the Epic electronic medical record and have full access to the physician lounge, which includes meals.
St. Francis Hospital, founded in 1909, has 378 beds and has been part of a partnership with Ardent Health Services since 2017, alongside the University of Kansas Health System. Topeka, the state capital, has a population near 180,000, a lower cost of living than the national urban average, and access to Lawrence and Manhattan universities within about 30 minutes. Kansas City lies roughly an hour away and offers a large metropolitan area with cultural venues and sports teams.
