Full details

Henry Ford Health, a large academic health system based in Detroit with 12 hospitals and many ambulatory locations across Michigan, is recruiting a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist for its anesthesia care team at the Henry Ford Medical Group Surgery Center. The position is full-time, and candidates should be willing to rotate within the ambulatory division when coverage is needed for cases there. A $40k sign-on bonus is available to eligible candidates.

The CRNA would give anesthetics, including intravenous, inhalation, and regional types, to keep patients free of pain during surgery, obstetrical deliveries, and other medical or dental procedures. The role may involve patients of every age and every ASA class, including geriatric and pediatric patients, and includes airway management as needed across the hospital. Typical duties include pre-anesthesia evaluations, building individualized care plans, working alongside surgeons and other clinicians, watching patients during procedures, handling anesthesia-related complications, providing recovery care and pain control, and keeping thorough records that meet hospital and regulatory standards.

The schedule is designed to be lighter: there is no call and no overnight work, weekend shifts are kept to a minimum, and the workday wraps up early in the evening. Surgery center cases span joint replacements, plastics, sports medicine, orthopedics, urology, gynecology, ophthalmology, podiatry, dental, pediatric, endoscopy, and general surgery. The Ambulatory Division includes more than 40 CRNAs and 10 senior staff physicians who deliver fast-paced, high-quality care.

Candidates need a current RN license and NBCRNA certification, a master's or doctoral degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills are expected, along with the ability to collaborate well with anesthesiologists and other providers. Required credentials to be held and kept current include clinical privileges, a State of Michigan RN license, state specialty certification, CRNA certification, and ALS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Benefits include a competitive salary, family-forming support such as paid parental leave, adoption assistance, donor assistance, and fertility coverage, and a 403(b) retirement plan with a 3.5% salary match. Medical, dental, and vision coverage is offered, along with tax-advantaged accounts including HSA, FSA, and DCFSA options.
