Full details

The part-time CRNA role is based at Henry Ford Rochester Hospital in Rochester, Michigan, a 180-bed facility with 11 operating rooms. The hospital's surgical services span cardiovascular, vascular, neurology, general, ENT (with limited pediatrics), urology, orthopedic, robotic, colorectal, podiatry and plastic surgery, and the anesthesia team also covers non-invasive cardiology, obstetrics, endoscopy and radiology, including CT and MRI.

The anesthetist will deliver intravenous, inhalation and regional anesthesia to keep patients free from pain during surgery, obstetric deliveries and other medical or dental procedures. Patients may range from geriatric to pediatric and across the full range of ASA physical status classes, and the CRNA will also provide airway management wherever it is needed in the hospital.

Core duties include completing pre-anesthesia evaluations and building individualized care plans, giving general, regional or monitored anesthesia care alongside surgeons and other clinicians, watching patients closely during procedures and handling any anesthesia-related complications, and providing recovery care and pain control afterward. Accurate charting that meets hospital policy and regulatory standards is also expected.

Candidates need a current RN license and NBCRNA CRNA certification, plus a master's or doctoral degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program. Strong clinical judgment, communication and teamwork skills are required, along with the ability to collaborate smoothly with anesthesiologists and other providers. Required credentials also include Michigan RN licensure, state specialty certification, clinical privileges, ALS and BLS.

Scheduling is rotating with flexible options, and the on-call and weekend commitment falls about once every one to two months. The site is described as a Level 3 trauma center with comparatively lower call demands, and it offers advanced programs in robotics, open heart surgery, interventional radiology, advanced cardiology, obstetrics and stroke/neurology, with plans to pursue Level 2 trauma designation and to expand stroke thrombectomy capabilities. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is offered to eligible candidates.

Compensation is described as competitive. Benefits include family-forming support such as paid parental leave, adoption assistance, donor assistance and fertility coverage, a 403(b) retirement plan with a 3.5% salary match, and medical, dental and vision coverage with HSA, FSA and DCFSA tax-savings options.
