Full details

The position is a regular, hourly role at West Ashley Medical Pavilion in Charleston, South Carolina, where the anesthesia team cares for adult patients across a wide range of outpatient surgical and diagnostic procedures in a modern ambulatory setting. Experienced CRNAs and newly graduated nurse anesthetists are both welcome to apply.

Anesthesia coverage at the pavilion spans orthopedics, interventional radiology, electrophysiology, endoscopy, gynecology, ENT, urology, oral and maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, general surgery, surgical oncology, pain management, and robotic surgery. Work takes place in traditional operating rooms as well as specialized procedure areas, which gives CRNAs room to build a broad skill set.

The CRNA delivers safe, evidence-based care that includes preoperative assessment, administering and monitoring anesthesia, postoperative evaluation, and collaborating with the wider care team. Practice falls under the clinical supervision of an anesthesiologist and the administrative oversight of CRNA leadership, in line with state law and institutional policy.

Candidates need graduation from a COA-accredited nurse anesthesia program, and a master's degree or higher in nurse anesthesia is required for anyone hired after March 1, 2019. NBCRNA certification or recertification is expected, or eligibility for new graduates. A South Carolina APRN authorization, or eligibility to obtain it, is necessary, along with a current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers card.

Compensation includes opportunities for annual performance-based raises, state retirement options, and a comprehensive benefits package. The employer offers continuing education time and financial support, paid parental leave, and potential eligibility for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Scheduling is flexible with self-selection among several shift options, and the posting notes rotating shifts and overtime as needed.

Candidates must meet specified vision, hearing, and dexterity standards and be able to work calmly under stress.
