Full details

The position is an independent practice CRNA role at a Faribault, Minnesota medical center, working a day shift of eight hours with a regular Monday-through-Thursday schedule totaling 40 hours per week. The site is a Level IV trauma center with four operating rooms and roughly 2,000 cases recorded in 2024. The case mix is broad, with a heavy share of general surgery and orthopedics, along with some ENT, ophthalmology, urology, and podiatry. Heads, hearts, and pediatric patients are not part of the caseload. Call coverage is provided at the Owatonna hospital, occurring every eighth weekend, and the team uses a peel-off system.

Core duties include delivering anesthesia through general, regional, local, or sedation techniques, which involves pre-anesthesia evaluation, informed consent, patient positioning, airway and cardiopulmonary management, and emergence and recovery care. The CRNA also discharges patients with a summary of their history and surgical course. Beyond the operating room, the role covers peripheral and arterial catheter placement, arterial blood sampling, CPR participation, and respiratory and ventilator consultation for other care areas. Additional responsibilities include leading charge duties when assigned, precepting students and orientees, serving as a resource for colleagues, and helping launch improvement efforts.

Candidates need a bachelor's degree, graduation from an accredited nursing program, and a master's degree from an accredited nurse anesthetist program. Preferred experience is at least three years of independent practice performing regional blocks. Required credentials include an MN Board of Nursing RN license and CRNA registration, both needed upon hire, plus ACLS/BLS Tier 2 and PALS, with PALS due within 120 days of hire at this location. The position is classified as medium physical work, with occasional lifting up to 32 pounds and frequent lifting up to 25 pounds.

The base pay range is $130.00 to $140.00 per hour, with the actual starting rate depending on experience, education, and any applicable union agreement. Shift, weekend, or other differentials may apply to certain hours. The position is non-union.

Benefits include medical and dental coverage, paid time off, retirement savings plans, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, voluntary vision, legal, and critical illness plans, tuition or continuing education support, and student loan assistance, including help with the Federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Well-being resources such as well-being dollars and personal coaching are also offered. Eligibility for certain benefits depends on full-time equivalent status and union representation.
