Full details

The position is a full-time CRNA role at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington, Illinois, a university town about two hours from Chicago. The hospital has served its community since 1880 and is part of OSF Health Care, a integrated system run by a religious congregation of Franciscan sisters. The facility is a Level II trauma center with six operating rooms, a newly acquired da Vinci surgical system, and robotic-assisted Mako technology, and it is described as having an intimate atmosphere that still handles complex procedures.

The compensation listed is a base salary of $285K per year along with a $75K sign-on incentive. The benefits package includes health, life, vision, dental, disability, and AD&D coverage, generous paid time off, flexible spending and health savings accounts, fully paid malpractice insurance, and assistance with loan repayment and training costs.

Schedules are varied and may include 24-hour shifts when they are available, and only CRNAs on the 24-hour track take call in the building. Case types span neuro, orthopedic, general surgery, and other specialties. CRNAs also have the chance to perform regional nerve blocks at this site.

Responsibilities include delivering full anesthesia care across a range of surgeries, completing pre-anesthesia assessments and securing informed consent, developing and reviewing anesthetic plans with patients, managing induction, maintenance, and emergence, and monitoring patients' physiological status with interventions as needed. The role also supports departmental coordination and clinical leadership.

Candidates must hold a current registered professional nursing license, have graduated from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and be certified or recertified through the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
