Full details

This full-time, employed Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist position is based at Ascension Saint Agnes Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, within a busy anesthesia department of 10 physicians and 17 CRNAs. The role offers a high degree of clinical independence across a broad perioperative caseload that includes OB/Gyn, bariatrics, orthopedics, plastics, vascular, and general surgery. The hospital is a Level III facility with 19 OR suites, so open-heart cases, complex pediatric work, and significant trauma are not part of the expected caseload.

The CRNA would perform advanced procedures such as central venous catheters, arterial lines, ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks, and epidurals and spinals, and the department offers hands-on mentorship for any technique a provider wants to strengthen. Shift options are varied to support work-life balance, and there are opportunities to precept student registered nurse anesthetists from three local training programs.

Compensation is listed as a base salary of $235,000 to $270,000 per year, with a quality incentive of up to $15,000 per year, a $3,000 annual CME allowance, and 40 dedicated CME hours. A sign-on and retention bonus is also offered, along with malpractice coverage that includes tail.

Candidates must hold BLS provider certification, obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer, with American Heart Association or American Red Cross courses accepted. Current NBCRNA certification and a Maryland registered nurse credential are required before the hire or transfer date, and advanced life support is preferred. A master's or doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia practice or nursing practice is required, and candidates must be board certified or board eligible in nurse anesthesia and eligible for Maryland medical licensure and DEA registration.

The hospital is a 254-bed facility serving a population of roughly 738,000 through an integrated referral network. It is part of Ascension, a national nonprofit Catholic health system, and the department emphasizes a physician-led, collaborative culture with long-term practice stability and a mission-centered approach to care.
