Full details

Somnia Anesthesia, a physician-owned and clinician-led anesthesia group, is recruiting per diem CRNAs for St. John's Regional Medical Center in Oxnard, on the Ventura County coast. The per diem rate is $175 per hour, with additional stipends and hourly pay for call duty available; call participation is encouraged but not required.

Weekday work covers clinical cases and call coverage, while weekend work is limited to call. At the main Oxnard campus, the typical day involves six running ORs plus interventional radiology, endoscopy, the cath lab and cardiac cases, and obstetrics. The group also covers Dignity St. John Camarillo, which has two running ORs and a cath lab but no obstetrics or cardiac cases. Shifts are 10 hours with flexible scheduling, and call is taken from home once cases are finished.

The combined caseload is about 8,036 cases a year across general, orthopedic, urology, gynecologic, vascular, GI and outpatient surgery, with cardiac and neuro work and occasional healthy pediatric patients. The OB service records 1,495 births a year and 1,041 cases with anesthesia involvement, and a separate OB anesthesia team handles those deliveries.

Candidates need an active state license, a DEA registration, a state controlled-substance certificate and NBCRNA certification, plus at least six months of practice after training.

St. John's is a 365-bed, non-profit acute care hospital founded in 1912 that serves Ventura County. It holds Top 250 recognition from Healthgrades, the county's first certified thrombectomy-capable stroke center, a STEMI receiving center designation, and a Level III NICU with all private rooms.
