Full details

Sanford Health, described as the largest rural health system in the United States, is hiring a CRNA to deliver anesthesia care. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, follows a week-on, week-off rotation, and includes call coverage. The role supports the Emergency Department, Obstetrics, and Surgery departments.

The CRNA will give anesthesia or sedation for a range of surgical and non-surgical procedures. Responsibilities include creating and carrying out a pre-anesthetic plan, writing orders before, during, and after procedures, and coordinating with the other clinicians caring for each patient. The CRNA will also speak with patients, family members, and members of the wider care team, order diagnostic tests when needed, and monitor patients, including hemodynamic monitoring, adjusting the anesthesia plan as conditions change. The position calls for the ability to meet the developmental needs of patients across all age groups.

Applicants need a bachelor's degree from an accredited advanced practice nursing program in the relevant specialty. A master's degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or PhD is preferred. A current, unrestricted license to practice as a CRNA from the state board of nursing is required, and multi-state licensure privileges may be needed depending on the role. CRNA certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists must be held and maintained, and the CRNA must keep up required department-specific competencies. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred. Privileging and credentialing documents take precedence over this description when they differ on minimum qualifications or scope of practice.
