Full details

Worthington Medical Center is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to work in a non-supervised model with anesthesia-only practice. The posting lists a rotating three-week schedule: the first week covers daytime shifts with call, the second week covers daytime shifts, and the third week is off. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week and is not part of a union.

The operating room case mix includes general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, obstetrics, podiatry, and ENT procedures. The CRNA is also responsible for obstetric epidurals.

The role centers on giving anesthesia or sedation to patients across a range of surgical and non-surgical procedures. Responsibilities include building and carrying out a pre-anesthetic plan, writing orders before, during, and after procedures, and working alongside the other providers caring for each patient. The CRNA also communicates with patients, families, and the wider care team, orders and reviews diagnostic tests as needed, and monitors patients, including hemodynamic monitoring, adjusting care to match the anesthesia plan. The position also calls for the ability to meet the growth and developmental needs of all patient populations.

Candidates need a Bachelor of Science degree from an approved, accredited advanced practice program in the relevant specialty, and a master's degree, Doctor of Nursing Practice, or PhD is preferred. A current, unencumbered license to practice as a CRNA from the state board of nursing in each state of practice is required, with multi-state licensure privileges where the position requires them. CRNA certification from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists must be obtained and maintained, along with department-specific competencies. Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification is preferred.
