Full details
Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its anesthesia care team. The role involves giving intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics so patients are free from pain during surgery, obstetric deliveries, and other medical or dental procedures. The CRNA may care for patients of every age and ASA class, including geriatric and pediatric patients, and provides airway management across the hospital as needed.
Key duties include completing pre-anesthesia assessments and building individualized anesthesia plans, delivering general, regional, or monitored anesthesia care alongside surgeons and other providers, watching patients during procedures and handling any anesthesia-related complications, and providing recovery care and pain control afterward. The CRNA also keeps thorough records that meet hospital policy and regulatory requirements.
The schedule includes one weekend shift every four to six weeks and two shifts running from 9:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. The posting states there is no call and no overnight work, with minimal weekend assignments. The service covers 25 operating rooms across the main hospital and multiple offsite locations, and is expected to grow to 28 when a new tower opens in 2027.
Candidates need a current Michigan RN license and NBCRNA CRNA certification, along with a master's or doctoral degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills are expected. The position also requires clinical privileges, state specialty certification, and current ALS, BLS, and PALS credentials.
The employer lists a $40,000 sign-on bonus as an eligibility item. Benefits include a competitive salary, family-building support such as paid parental leave, adoption and donor assistance, and fertility healthcare coverage. A 403(b) retirement plan includes a 3.5% salary match, and medical, dental, and vision coverage comes with HSA, FSA, and DCFSA tax-savings options.
