Full details

Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit is seeking a skilled, compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its anesthesia care team on a part-time basis. The role carries a $20k sign-on bonus for eligible candidates. The CRNA would give intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthetics to keep patients free of pain during surgeries, obstetrical deliveries, and other medical or dental procedures, and may care for patients of all ages and A.S.A. classes, including geriatric and pediatric patients. Airway management is provided across the hospital as needed.

Key duties include completing pre-anesthesia assessments and building individualized anesthesia care plans, delivering general, regional, or monitored anesthesia care alongside surgeons and other providers, watching patients during procedures and handling any anesthesia-related complications, providing post-anesthesia care and pain control, and keeping documentation that meets hospital policy and regulatory standards.

The schedule is part-time: one weekend shift every four to six weeks plus two shifts running 9am to 9:30pm. The posting states there is no call and no overnight work, and weekend shifts are minimal. The work spans 25 operating rooms across the main hospital and multiple offsite locations, with expansion to 28 operating rooms planned when a new tower opens in 2027.

Candidates need a current RN license and NBCRNA CRNA certification, a Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and the ability to work well with anesthesiologists and other health care providers are expected. Required credentials to be held and kept current include clinical privileges, a State of Michigan RN license, state specialty certification, CRNA certification, and ALS, BLS, and PALS certifications.

Benefits described include a competitive salary, family-forming support such as paid parental leave, adoption assistance, donor assistance, and fertility coverage, and a 403(b) retirement plan with a 3.5% salary match. Medical, dental, and vision coverage is offered, along with tax-advantaged accounts (HSA, FSA, and DCFSA).
