Full details
The role at Henry Ford Health is for a skilled and compassionate CRNA joining the anesthesia care team. The nurse anesthetist delivers intravenous, inhalation, and regional anesthesia so patients feel no pain during surgery, labor and delivery, or other medical and dental procedures. Care may extend to patients of every age and ASA class, including older adults and children, and airway management is provided across the hospital as needed.
Responsibilities include completing pre-anesthesia evaluations and building individualized anesthetic plans, then giving anesthesia alongside surgeons and other clinicians. The CRNA watches patients throughout procedures and handles any anesthesia-related complications, provides post-anesthesia recovery and pain control, and keeps records that meet hospital policy and regulatory requirements.
Shifts are flexible, with 8, 10, 12, 16, and 24 hour options. The schedule includes 2 to 3 night and weekend shifts in each rotation and 1 to 2 call shifts across a 6-week schedule. Cases span 19 operating rooms and areas such as obstetrics, electrophysiology, MRI, interventional radiology, the cath lab, endoscopy, general, vascular, thoracic and cardiothoracic, pediatrics, neuro, renal transplant, OMFS/ENT, and gynecology.
Candidates need a current RN license and NBCRNA certification, a master's or doctoral degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and graduation from an accredited school of anesthesia. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills are expected, along with the ability to collaborate with anesthesiologists and other providers. Required credentials include clinical privileges, the State of Michigan RN license, state specialty certification, CRNA certification, and ALS and BLS certification.
Benefits include a competitive salary, family-forming support such as paid parental leave, adoption assistance, donor assistance, and fertility coverage, and a 403(b) plan with a 3.5% salary match. Medical, dental, and vision coverage is offered, with HSA, FSA, and DCFSA tax-savings options.
