Full details

This is a PRN, part-time CRNA position in the Anesthesiology department at Advocate Condell, with shifts of eight, ten, or twelve hours available on weekdays and all call types offered. The listed pay range is $99.75 to $159.60, and the role is not benefits eligible.

The CRNA provides the full range of anesthesia services before, during, and after procedures, including general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care. Responsibilities include preoperative evaluation and informed consent, preparing equipment and medications, delivering induction, maintenance, and emergence, and managing pain relief after surgery. The nurse anesthetist also completes post-anesthesia visits, handles emergencies with advanced airway and cardiac life support, and keeps timely electronic medical record documentation with compliant coding and billing.

Additional duties involve taking part in quality and safety reviews, departmental meetings, and peer review, as well as helping onboard new staff and students. Productivity, patient access, and quality metrics are part of the expected standards, and the nurse must be able to care for patients across all ages.

Required credentials include an active RN license, an APRN license in the state of practice, national certification as a CRNA, an active DEA registration before hire, and a Master's degree in nursing. Illinois practice also requires an Illinois Controlled Substance License before hire, and ACLS, PALS, and NRP as the site requires. No prior experience is required. Strong clinical judgment, independent work, teamwork, and electronic record skills are expected.

The position involves frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching, with lifting, pushing, and pulling of patients and equipment, and exposure to hazards such as blood, body fluids, and chemicals. Advocate Health, a nonprofit integrated system, describes its total rewards package, including health and retirement benefits, paid time off, and education assistance for eligible employees.
