Full details

Exeter Hospital, a level 3 trauma center in Exeter, New Hampshire, is growing its CRNA team with a per diem opening. The practice uses an anesthesia care-team model in a community setting, with a focus on work-life balance and a collegial atmosphere. CRNAs are given autonomy and are encouraged to practice to the full extent of their license, and some may serve as clinical preceptors for nearby nurse anesthesia programs.

The town sits less than an hour from Boston and Portland, the seacoast, and mountain areas, with easy access to outdoor recreation and well-regarded local schools such as Phillips Exeter Academy. New Hampshire has no state income tax or sales tax. The posted pay is $225 per hour.

Assignments mix solo cases with supervised cases. Shifts are offered as 8- or 10-hour blocks. Anticipated case types include general surgery, orthopedics, endoscopy, ENT, gynecology, labor and delivery, ophthalmology, urology, vascular, plastics, healthy pediatric patients, and dental. Head, heart, and chronic pain cases are excluded.

Responsibilities include providing full anesthesia care across a range of procedures, completing pre-anesthesia evaluations, obtaining informed consent, and discussing anesthetic plans with patients. The CRNA manages induction, maintenance, and emergence, monitors patients' physiological status and intervenes as needed, and supports departmental coordination and clinical leadership.

Candidates need a current registered professional nurse license, graduation from an accredited nurse anesthesia program, and certification or recertification through the AANA Council on Certification of Nurse Anesthetists.
