Full details

The schedule is 10-hour shifts. The role is a PRN opening for an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist at an orthopedic and pain management surgery center serving physicians at Southern Bone and Joint in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. Work runs Monday through Friday on an as-needed basis, and the pay is listed at $175 per hour. The practice describes an independent yet closely cooperative setting centered on cost-conscious, high-quality anesthesia delivery.

It has earned its sixth consecutive three-year accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care, a designation that follows an extensive peer-based onsite survey. Annual volume is about 3,700 cases, all orthopedic. No call duty is required.

Clinically, the nurse anesthetist would perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and document them promptly, order or give premedications and fluids, secure informed consent, and manage airways, emergence, and recovery. The position also includes discharging patients from the recovery area, following up on anesthesia side effects or complications, and responding to emergencies with airway care, emergency drugs or fluids, and advanced or basic cardiac life support. Administrative expectations include helping set continuity-of-care and case-management standards and staying current with AANA guidance and local, state, and federal rules.

Candidates need graduation from an approved nursing school and from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation, plus certification through the AANA Council on Certification. At least two years of independent practice is required, along with ACLS, BLS, and PALS certification.

The employer, LifeLinc Anesthesia, presents itself as a large perioperative anesthesia management group founded in 2003 with a focus on innovation and clinical quality. It supports provider growth through LifeLinc Academy, which offers continuing education credits, and through LEAP, a clinical leadership training program.
