Full details
Aurora Lakeland Medical Center in Elkhorn, Wisconsin is seeking a part-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to cover weekend obstetric anesthesia within its Anesthesiology team. The position is scheduled for 16 hours per week at 0.4 FTE and is not benefits eligible. The hospital, a 109-bed Level III Trauma Center, also handles pediatrics, vascular, general surgery, orthopedics, and ENT cases, and the community sits about an hour southwest of Milwaukee.
The provider would handle preoperative evaluation of obstetric patients, labor analgesia and neuraxial techniques, and selection of anesthesia and analgesia approaches for cesarean sections. Responsibilities also include narcotic accounting and distribution, along with patient positioning and transport tasks. OB shifts run either 24 or 48 hours, with 48-hour weekend shifts available, and the role is an in-house shift with a call room provided. At 0.4 FTE, the schedule amounts to roughly 17.3 weekends per year.
Pay is listed as $99.75 to $159.60, and the posting also cites OB shift rates of $121 to $159 per hour. An FTE-adjusted sign-on bonus may be available to eligible candidates, subject to program and commitment requirements. The role carries no non-compete restrictions, so the provider may work locum assignments at non-Advocate Health locations.
Candidates need a Registered Nurse license from the state where they practice, CRNA certification from the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists, a Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber license, and DEA registration. Within six months of hire, the provider must obtain PALS and ACLS from the American Heart Association, or NRP from the AHA and American Academy of Pediatrics, unless the department leader waives the requirement. A Master's degree in Nursing is required, and no prior experience is needed.
Advocate Health, a nonprofit integrated health system headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina, provides care under several regional names, including Aurora Health Care in Wisconsin. Total rewards include medical, dental, and vision coverage, disability and life insurance, paid time off, retirement plans with employer match, flexible spending accounts, family benefits, and an educational assistance program, with eligibility varying by FTE status.
