Anesthesia care team

Full details

The role centers on delivering anesthesia and related care alongside anesthesiologists. The CRNA would complete pre- and post-anesthesia patient assessments and prepare the equipment, supplies, and medication carts used in each case, checking that everything is safe and working.

Responsibilities also include helping the anesthesiologist get patients ready for surgery so the operating room schedule stays on track, setting up and labeling IV fluids in the pre-operative holding area, and restocking anesthesia machines. Under direct medical supervision, the CRNA would provide general anesthesia, airway management, all levels of sedation, and monitored anesthesia care in anesthetizing locations.

Post-anesthesia duties include giving medications as needed, managing fluids, supporting respiratory weaning, and performing endotracheal extubation. The CRNA would also order supplies and medications as required and handle other related tasks as assigned.

Candidates need a master's or doctoral degree in a related field and graduation from a nurse anesthesia program accredited by COA. A clear, unencumbered New York State registered professional nurse license is required, along with NBCRNA certification obtained within one year of graduation. Current AHA BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications are also required.

The posted salary range is described as a good-faith estimate of potential base pay at the time of the advertisement, which may change. Final base pay may depend on factors such as location, specialty, service line, relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity.
