Full details

This full-time position at Allegheny Health Network provides anesthetic care to patients in the surgical setting. The CRNA assesses, plans, evaluates, and carries out anesthetic management for every patient receiving anesthesia care and keeps accurate medical records; this duty takes up the largest share of the role. The CRNA also watches patients continuously under anesthesia, responds to abnormal reactions, and consults the attending physician on the plan of care and on any issue beyond the CRNA's knowledge or scope of practice.

Other responsibilities include helping to develop and put into practice performance and quality improvement initiatives, following nursing and American Association of Nurse Anesthetists ethical and legal standards, and observing safety rules and regulatory requirements. The CRNA serves as a clinical resource for the wider healthcare team and may mentor new staff or students. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Candidates need a current Pennsylvania RN license or a current multistate license under the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact. Certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists is required, and prior CRNA experience is preferred. The role also calls for CPR, PALS, and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association, plus several state and federal clearances, including criminal background, child abuse, and FBI fingerprinting checks. A sign-on bonus is available for eligible candidates.
