Full details

This full-time role at Forbes Hospital, part of Allegheny Health Network, centers on delivering anesthetic care to surgical patients. The CRNA assesses, plans, evaluates, and carries out anesthetic management for every patient receiving anesthesia, and keeps accurate medical records; this documentation makes up the largest share of the work.

A substantial portion of the role involves continuously monitoring patients under anesthesia and correcting abnormal responses, while consulting the attending physician on the plan of care and bringing the physician into decisions on matters beyond the CRNA's knowledge or scope. The CRNA also takes part in developing and carrying out performance and quality improvement efforts, and acts as a clinical resource for the wider healthcare team, sometimes mentoring new staff or students.

The position requires adherence to nursing and American Association of Nurse Anesthetists ethical and legal standards, observance of safety protocols, and compliance with regulatory agencies. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Candidates need a current Pennsylvania RN license or a current multistate license under the enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact, and certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist from the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists. Prior CRNA experience is preferred. Required credentials include CPR through the American Heart Association, PALS, and ACLS, along with the Act 34 criminal background clearance, Act 33 child abuse clearance, Act 73 FBI fingerprinting clearance.

The posting notes that the position is eligible for a sign-on bonus.
