Full details

Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital in Jamaica Plain, part of Mass General Brigham, is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. The base pay range is $280,000 to $305,000 per year, with a sign-on bonus of $40,000, and the details of the bonus are discussed during interviews. Full-time and part-time schedules are available, and the role carries no call and no weekend duties.

The practice is CRNA-led in culture and gives practitioners room to work at the full extent of their training within a team-based anesthesia model that includes anesthesiologists available for support. CRNAs develop individualized anesthesia plans based on their own assessments and clinical judgment. The hospital offers twelve first-floor operating rooms, four sixth-floor ORs, a 28-bay PACU, two ERCP rooms and four colonoscopy suites, with cases spanning gastroenterology, general surgery, interventional radiology, orthopedics, and plastic and reconstructive surgery.

Candidates need a master's degree in nurse anesthesia practice and current NBCRNA certification, along with BLS and ACLS certification. A Massachusetts registered nurse license is preferred. Experience as a CRNA or as a new graduate with up to one year is preferred, and foreign language skills suited to the patient population are welcome.

The position calls for strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology and related sciences, the ability to take detailed medical histories, and a calm manner in emergencies. The successful candidate will work comfortably in a fast-paced setting, communicate well with surgeons, staff, patients and the public, keep current with anesthesia best practices, and uphold quality control standards.

Benefits described include comprehensive coverage, retirement plans, continuing education support, and differentials, premiums and bonuses where applicable. The site is an on-site role at 1153 Centre Street, with on-site parking and a neighborhood of tree-lined streets and green spaces nearby.
